New approach to TV deal but fans wary

THE EFL are looking for innovation as they put their broadcast rights up for grabs – but the Football Supporters’ Association have urged ‘extreme caution’ over the potential end of the long-standing 3pm blackout.
The present £595m five-year deal with Sky Sports wasn’t universally welcomed when it was negotiated in 2018, with some Championship clubs believing it undervalued their competition.
Under the current agreement, Sky show at least 138 league matches a season as well as every play-off game and the Carabao Cup final.
