IPSWICH striker James Norwood is to have surgery on an adductor muscle injury and is not expected to return to action until April.
The 29-year-old striker, who has scored 11 goals this season for the Tractor Boys, has been coping with the problem for some time, but the League One promotion contenders have decided surgery is now the best option.
Manager Paul Lambert said: “It’s a blow for us and for James.
“It has been niggling away at him for a while and it’s got to the point where he needs surgery.”
