NICKY Ajose is unlikely to play again this season after Mansfield boss David Flitcroft revealed the forward requires surgery on a knee problem.
The 27-year-old was not involved in the Stags’ 4-1 win at Exeter last week and it has now been confirmed he needs an operation.
“Nicky has tweaked his meniscus in his knee and needs minor surgery on it so we’ll lose Nicky now probably until the end of the season,” Flitcroft admitted.
The Charlton loanee had scored twice for the promotion hopefuls after joining in January.
