WHEN I was on the pitch, I’d often think of certain things for motivation. It might have been a family member or something emotive that would inspire me to run that extra yard. However, I’m not sure the promise of a postmatch cheeseburger would have cut the mustard for me.
Accrington Stanley chairman Andy Holt bizarrely found himself in hot water this week after the EFL discovered he’d been buying his players quarterpounders after victories. Uncommon? Yes. Unsporting? Surely not.
