PLYMOUTH Argyle manager Derek Adams felt the poor Roots Hall pitch was to blame for his side’s slow start at Southend United.
An early own goal from Pilgrims defender Sonny Bradley put the Shrimpers ahead, but a double change at halftime saw Plymouth get back on top and secure a draw when Ryan Edwards headed home.
However, Adams admitted things could have been different had he known how bad the surface was going to be.
