GRIMSBY have extended Elliot Embleton’s loan spell until the end of the season.
The Sunderland midfielder, 19, joined Town on a temporary basis in the summer and that deal was due to expire this month.
He will now remain at Blundell Park as Grimsby hope to mount a late promotion challenge during the second half of the campaign.
Embleton has made 20 appearances in all competitions for Grimsby and has scored four goals.
The Mariners have also tied striker Harry Cardwell, 22, down until the summer of 2020.
