Matt Gray says he leaves Sutton United with his ‘head held high’ after his four and a half years as manager came to an abrupt end.
The U’s have had a nightmare season in League Two, culminating in an 8-0 hammering at league leaders Stockport last weekend. It left them bottom of the table and six points from safety.
The 42-year-old became manager in 2019 and led the U’s to the Football League for the first time in their history in 2021.
