Gills defender keen to climb back up EFL ladder

Ambitious Conor Masterson is hoping his decision to drop down the EFL ladder will prove to be the perfect springboard to bounce back up again.
The 25-year-old Irishman left QPR in the summer to join League Two Gillingham. It was already a club he knew well from two previous loan spells.
But Masterson isn’t content to ply his trade forever in the EFL’s bottom tier – and believes the Gills can recover the League One berth they lost in his first temporary stint in 2021-22.
