MICKY Mellon’s Tranmere Rovers climbed into the top three on Boxing Day with a solid 2-0 home triumph against Barrow.
Nicky Maynard gave Rovers a seventh-minute lead after latching onto Jay Spearing’s free-kick and they wrapped up the points with three minutes left when Kieron Morris struck. It made it five league wins on the trot for Tranmere, who moved third.
