ACCRINGTON’S supporters packed the Wham Stadium hoping for a promotion celebration, but Exeter spoiled the party with a resilient away performance.
Realistically, the point is only a temporary setback in Accrington’s charge for an unprecedented promotion to the top tier.
But for Exeter, who still have a top-three spot in their sights as well, it was a valuable point, born from taking the game to the hosts.
