GRIMSBY boss Russell Slade was amazed that his side’s clash with Cambridge ended as a goalless draw.
Chances fell to both teams at Blundell Park, with Sam Jones hitting the post for the home side, while Uche Ikpeazu passed up a golden opportunity for the U’s.
Veteran stopper David Forde also made two fine saves in the first half, before his opposite number James McKeown superbly kept out Javani Brown at the death.
Grimsby are now unbeaten in their last seven games but have had three goalless draws in a row.
