TOM Pope’s first goal since returning to Port Vale ensured the Valiants avoided defeated in their first game since sacking manager Michael Brown.
With caretaker duo David Kelly and Chris Morgan in charge, Vale deservedly led at halftime through Pope’s back-post header.
They were forced to settle for a point when Otis Khan levelled for Yeovil following an error from keeper Kelle Roos but Kelly was pleased with the reaction from his players.
