UP AGAINST the might of Birmingham City’s millions, Hollywood-backed Wrexham and a bunch of other big-hitters, Wycombe Wanderers were hardly expected to be in the League One mix this season.
The bookies, who don’t miss much, tipped the Chairboys for mid-table, which seemed credible based on last season’s 10th-place finish.
Yet here we are in the second half of November and the Buckinghamshire side – who had a season in the Championship under Gareth Ainsworth in 2020-21 – are again overcoming the odds.
