BLACKPOOL boss Steve Bruce has thanked everyone for the backing he and his family have received following the death of his baby grandson.
Four-month-old Madison, the child of Bruce’s daughter and son-in-law – former Leeds, Fulham and Millwall striker Matt Smith – died last month.
Bruce spent time away from football following his grandson’s passing but returned to the dugout for yesterday’s FA Cup first round tie at Gillingham.
“On Tuesday we laid my grandson Madison to rest,” he said in a statement on Thursday.
