Michael Higdon has today joined League One side Oldham Athletic on loan from rivals Sheffield United.
The 32-year-old striker has been brought in to aid Oldham‘s current plight, which sees them sit in the relegation zone and having scored just seven goals in their opening eight matches.
Sheffield United have utilised Higdon during this campaign but he has failed to score in his four appearances.
The forward joined the Blades in the summer of 2014 and scored five times in 20 matches but did struggle with a hamstring injury.
Higdon, who stands at 6’1″, enjoyed his most prolific spell in Scotland where he scored 40 goals for Motherwell in two years at the club.
Oldham have secured the experienced striker’s services for an initial three months and he will be in contention for a start in the Latics league match at home to Wigan Athletic.
