Two championship club Derby County and Norwich City are currently among the clubs keeping a watchful eye on Wigan Athletic midfielder Sam Morsy.
According to Matthew Adams, analyst at FootballPredictions.com, the Wolverhampton-born midfielder, has been in a great form for the League One side and has been a key figure for the club as they push for a promotion in the League one. And he is expected to feature for Egypt in the Pharaoh’s squad by the next World Cup in Russia.
The 26-year-old has helped and captained the team to second place in the League One with the guidance of manager Paul Cook.
His impressive stats for Wigan has sparked interests from various clubs from the Championship – Norwich and Derby County are also reported to be interested in the Egyptian, according to report from Daily Mail.
Morsy moved to Wigan on January 2016, after unsuccessful spells at Port Vale and Chesterfield, and was sent on loan to Barnsley last campaign – where he featured in their 2-1 Championship win over Norwich in December 2016, received a call back to his club shortly after being called to Cook‘s squad this season
Wigan’s manager Cook, will be hoping to keep the Egyptian intact in order to secure a place for the promotion to the Championship side, as they expect new investment from Hong Kong consortium before Christmas.
Which could give the League One club an upper hand in the January transfer market as they will want to bounce back into Championship and can also pave way to Clubs interested in the Egyptian.
