Midfielder Mowatt pens Leeds United contract

youngster Alex Mowatt has signed a long-term deal at Elland Road.

The 18-year-old has been with the club since the age of six and recently graduated from their academy.

He’s made nine appearances for Brian McDermott’s side this term and has now put pen-to-paper on a three-and-a-half year contract.

The midfielder is loving life with the outfit and says his next target is getting on the scoresheet.

Speaking to the club’s website, he said: “I feel that it is only a matter of time before I score.

“I came close at the game and possibly should have scored.

“But I’m getting chances so I think the goals will come.

“I scored quite a lot for the Under-18s last season and created plenty of chances for others. I’d like to progress forward and do that in the first team as well.”
