Mowatt’s agent yet to receive any contact from Leeds over new contract

Yet in a follow-up interview Mowatt’s agent Mark Rankine confirmed no approach had been made by the executives at Elland Road.

Asked whether he had received any contact, Rankine told the Yorkshire Evening Post: “Absolutely none whatsoever. Nobody has spoken to me about it (a new contract), or to Alex.”

Leeds do appear keen to hold on to their academy stars with Lewie Coyle, Lewis Walters and Tyler Denton all signing new deals last summer. As well as rebuffing enquiries by about the availability of promising midfielder Lewis Cook in January.
