Leam Richardson played in the Premier League for Bolton, spent 16 years as a pro and performed one of the EFL’s all-time managerial miracles when he prevented a financially-crippled Wigan Athletic from sinking into League Two during the Covid pandemic.
But all the accolades, all the medals and all the memories pale into insignificance compared to the moment in November 2021 when he saved the life of Charlie Wyke.
Wyke, then 28 and playing as a striker for Wigan, collapsed during a training session after suffering a cardiac arrest.
