Struggling Rotherham United face Sheffield Wednesday at the AESSEAL New York Stadium on Saturday looking to build on a win in their last league outing.
After securing all three points with a 1-2 victory over Queens Park Rangers on February 24, the Millers sit bottom of the Championship.
They travel to play a Wednesday side 23rd in the standings, who also won their last match, 2-1 against Bristol City.
Rotherham are in awful form in the Championship, with no wins and six losses from their last six games.
With three wins and a draw over that period, Wednesday’s form is much better – they have taken 10 points from 18, compared to United’s zero.
In the last 10 years, Rotherham and Wednesday have played each other on 14 occasions. Rotherham won four of them, Wednesday seven, and they drew three times.
On average, the Millers scored 1.1 goals and the Owls 1.3 in those matches.
Their last meeting was on October 29, when Wednesday won 2-0 at home.
With 28 goals in 34 games so far this season, the Owls are the league’s lowest scorers with 0.8 goals per game. And they are conceding more than average, letting in 53 goals at a rate of 1.6 per game.
The Millers are also below average scorers, with 0.9 goals per game, compared to a league average of 1.4. They have conceded 1.9 goals per game.
Saturday’s match will be refereed by David Webb, who has taken charge of 22 Championship games so far this season, issuing one red card and booking 92 players. He has awarded three penalties.
The last Wednesday game Webb refereed was the 3-1 win at home against Blackburn Rovers on December 2. He is yet to oversee a match featuring Rotherham this season.
