Owls & Hoops win to close in on sides above
QPR and Sheffield Wednesday earned priceless away wins to boost their Championship survival prospects – and pile the pressure on the teams above them.
Ilias Chair scored the only goal as the third-bottom Hoops eked out a superb 1-0 victory at Bristol City to move to within a point of safety.
They are just one behind Millwall, who crashed to a 2-0 home defeat against Wednesday. Ike Ugbo and Anthony Musaba netted for the second-bottom Owls, who moved to within four points of Millwall.
But a host of clubs will now be looking over their shoulders. There are seven teams who are six points or fewer above the drop zone.
Owls boss Danny Rohl said: “We did well as a team and showed what we have to do in our situation.”
