Stoke City have moved swiftly to replace injured defender Ben Wilmot by signing veteran free agent Ciaran Clark.
Clark, who has won 36 caps for the Republic of Ireland, was a free agent after leaving Newcastle during the summer.
The 34-year-old spent last season on loan at Sheffield United, making ten Championship appearances and scoring two goals as they won promotion to the Premier League.
“Ciaran’s vast experience and understanding of how to be successful in the Championship make him a valuable addition to our squad,” said Stoke’s technical director Ricky Martin.
