Reading have announced the signing of 23 year old Latvian international Deniss Rakels.
The forward, who joined from Polish club Cracovia from an undisclosed fee, signed a contract to keep him at the Berkshire club until the summer of 2018 with an option of a further year extension.
Rakels has scored a total of 15 goals this season for the Krakow based club, who sit third in the top tier of Polish football.
“I’m delighted that we’ve completed the signing of Deniss,” said manager Brian McDermott to the official club website.
“I spoke to Kaspars Gorkss, who is the Latvia captain and who played here for me of course – and he spoke really highly of Deniss, so I’m really pleased he has decided to join us.”
Reading are currently sitting in 15th place in the Championship. They face Walsall at the Madejski Stadium.
