BEN Whiteman turned down the chance of a Championship move as he wants to reach that level with Doncaster.
The 23-year-old Rovers captain has signed a deal until 2023 with Darren Moore’s side despite reported interest from the league above.
Midfielder Whiteman said: “It is flattering to have interest from clubs in the Championship.
I back myself to play there and feel I’m ready to do so, but this club feels like home and I want to get there with Rovers.
“The gaffer has been pivotal. He has been different class with me.”
