EXIT: Hasselbaink
YOU never like to see a manager sacked after just six months in a job.
But, when a disgruntled Cobblers fan stomped over to the home dugout at Sixfields on Good Friday, chucked his scarf in the direction of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and stormed off – rather dramatically – it felt as though the Dutchman had reached the point of no return.
His team were utterly abject during that 4-0 home defeat, albeit against a very good Charlton Athletic side. But the atmosphere had turned toxic.
