IPSWICH manager Mick McCarthy is not looking for Sheffield Wednesday defender Glenn Loovens to receive a retrospective ban following his challenge on David McGoldrick.
Loovens, 34, raked his studs down the front of McGoldrick in the 2-2 draw on Wednesday, and referee Keith Stroud took no action.
Striker McGoldrick, 29, underwent surgery on a four-inch wound to his groin and is set to be out for a month but McCarthy is keen to move on.
He said: “It wasn’t an elbow, it wasn’t a violent stamp. Loovens tried to go in for the ball. He was too slow and missed it.”
