Midfielder James Henry has signed a new two year contract with Wolverhampton Wanderers. The former Millwall man has made 77 appearances for the club, scoring 16 goals in the process.
Henry had been linked with a possible move away from the club in the summer, with Charlton Athletic believed to be interested. However, the midfielder has now decided to commit his future to Wolves.
Henry expressed his joy to be staying at Molineux, telling reporters “I wanted to stay and play my football for this great club and I’m delighted that it’s done.”
Wolves manager Kenny Jackett was equally pleased, telling the club’s official website “I do feel now, at 26, that (Henry) has he best years ahead of him and he can continue to be a very good player for the club.”
Wolves have had a difficult start to the season and are currently in 18th place in the Championship. They will be hoping for a return to form when they travel to newly promoted Preston on Saturday.
