PAUL Heckingbottom is determined to turn Preston North End into a force to be reckoned with in the Championship.
The 47-year-old has stepped into the hotseat vacated by Ryan Lowe, who surprisingly decided to call time on his twoand-a-half year reign in the aftermath of the season-opening 2-0 home defeat by Sheffield United.
Heckingbottom won promotion from the second tier with Sheffield United in 2022-23 and also led Barnsley out of League One via the playoffs in 2015-16. He will be assisted by Stuart McCall at Deepdale.
