What Next for ‘Big Ange’ and Spurs?

It was a season that the Spurs thought was their year, at least for the start.

With the new manager, Ange Postecoglou, taking on the reigns and making massive strides in the playing style in the first few weeks of the Premier League, it felt like the Spurs had adjusted well to life after Harry Kane.

It was an incredible display of football from the Spurs, who led the Premier League points table at some point in the league.

But the team could not keep it going, and now the Spurs finished 5th in the Premier League, qualifying for the Europa League.

While fans with Tottenham tickets have faith in their new manager, it is all about looking at the new season and what the former Celtics boss has in store for the new season.

‘Big Ange’ Wants to Sell 10 Players

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou is gearing up for a ruthless summer clear-out in north London.

The hard-nosed Aussie wants to change the club’s culture and has the full backing of the Spurs hierarchy despite an underwhelming finish to the season, having failed to secure Champions League qualification.

Several Spurs stars will now be pushed towards the exit door, with Emerson Royal, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Giovani Lo Celso, and Bryan Gil among those expected to lead the exodus.

Ryan Sessegnon will be allowed to leave on a free transfer this summer, while Ben Davies is also facing an uncertain future at the club.

One of the key targets that the manager wants out is Emerson Royal – who has yet to be at his best. Fans with Tottenham tickets will also agree with this statement.

AC Milan is already showing strong interest in Brazilian full-back Emerson, while Feyenoord are long-standing admirers of Spanish winger Gil. In January, Brighton also enquired about Gil.

Gil had been determined to make the grade at Tottenham but has struggled for minutes in England following loan spells with Valencia and Sevilla.

If they land, bids are also expected to be considered for Richarlison, Yves Bissouma, and Oliver Skipp, with Tottenham poised to prioritize the signings of a new striker and defensive midfielder.

After another disappointing season, the other Brazilian who is set to leave the club is Richarlison.

Richarlison is attracting interest from Saudi Pro League champions Al Hilal, while Bissouma still has a market in the Premier League after he was the subject of a shock inquiry from Chelsea last summer.

Spurs can also generate cash from their returning loanees, including Joe Rodon, Djed Spence, Sergio Reguilon and Tanguy Ndombele.

Meanwhile, Millwall is finalizing the signing of defender Japhet Tanganga following a productive loan spell in south London.

Tanganga’s Spurs deal expires at the end of the season, but the club has the option to trigger a 12-month extension. However, he is likely to leave on a free transfer.

Postecoglou will also strive to improve the depth of his squad, which has suffered from injuries this season, including his options at full-back.

Spurs had also been working on a deal to sign Fulham center-back Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer, but Newcastle is now considered the clear frontrunner for his signature.

Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher remains a player of long-standing interest, and clarity on his Stamford Bridge future is expected in the coming weeks. If the Blues decide they’re willing to entertain a sale, Tottenham will re-enter the running. The regulars with Tottenham tickets will vouch for Gallagher and believe he would be a proper fit.

Postecoglou and Daniel Levy are also poised to decide whether they will activate Timo Werner’s buy-clause worth £ 14.6 million.

Werner made a bright start to his Spurs career, but his season was eventually cut short by a hamstring injury. Tottenham will have until June 14th to decide whether they want to keep hold of the German international attacker, who was left out of Julian Nagelsmann’s preliminary 27-man squad for the European Championships.

Spurs Eye Solanke

Tottenham are one of the clubs contemplating a summer swoop for Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke.

Solanke’s stock is high after scoring 19 Premier League goals this season, and Cherries owner Bill Foley has admitted the club could cash in on the former Liverpool front-man this summer.

However, insider sources understand it would take a hefty bid to prise Solanke away from the Dorset coast.

Spurs are looking for a new number nine. Richarlison, one of the players’ managers, Ange Postecoglu, is willing to move on to fund a rebuild after missing out on a Champions League place.

Solanke is under contract at the Vitality Stadium until the summer of 2027.

Portugal winger Neto is on the radar of Manchester City, Tottenham, Arsenal, and Newcastle, and Wolves are willing to listen to offers of around £60million.

Ait-Nouri is another Molineux star attracting interest from European clubs, while Joao Gomes is on Manchester United’s long list of potential midfield targets.

But, Wolves are not under any financial pressure to sell either Gomes or Ait-Nouri, and manager Gary O’Neil is planning for next season with the pair very much in his ranks.

A New Brazilian On the Huntlist

While Tottenham have been linked with countless names, they have now turned their attention to outstanding Porto star Evanilson.

Reports suggest that the 24-year-old has been added to the club’s summer transfer shortlist, which Spurs scouts have monitored closely during the current campaign.

Those scouts were said to have been impressed with Evanlison’s clinical finishing and overall play, leading to what is likely to be a bid for his services very shortly.

However, Tottenham will only have it in their hunt for the Brazilian, with Newcastle also said to be in the running for his signature.

The product of Fluminense’s youth system joined Porto in the summer of 2020 on a five-year contract in a transfer worth just €8.8 million.

Since his arrival, Evanilson has steadily increased his goal tally and is enjoying his best campaign in terms of goalscoring form. Fans with Tottenham tickets think he would be an ideal replacement to pair up with Son.

The Brazilian international has netted an impressive 24 goals and provided six assists in his 41 appearances across all competitions this season.
