HAROLD Walker's ambition when he took over as chairman of Bournemouth was to make the club the Newcastle of the south, but things got off to a disastrous start.
From the moment they were admitted into the Football League, the club played in Division Three South and then Division Three when the regionalisation of the bottom division was scrapped in 1958.
