ELATED Middlesbrough boss Michael Carrick saluted his injury-ravaged troops after they defeated Chelsea in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final.
Hayden Hackney slid home an Isaiah Jones cross on 37 minutes for the only goal of the game, punishing the top-flight Blues for missed chances.
