BBC radio presenter and BT Sport commentator Darren Fletcher is one of six new appointments on Notts County‘s board of directors.
The 41-year-old, who hosts a show on Radio 5 Live and most recently commentated on Saturday’s thrilling Championship League final for BT, was born in Nottingham and grew up in the city.
Sports PR firm founder Paul Mace, a lifelong Magpies fan, and Gleeds main board director Jon Enever will also join the club with immediate effect.
Speaking to Notts County’s official website, chairman Alan Hardy said: “I am delighted to have put together such a strong team of people who have a diverse and complementary range of football and business skill sets.
“The Board will help in the creation, development and implementation of a wide range of initiatives to meet our short, medium and long-term goals.
“Football is a team game and it is important that we have a committed, enthusiastic and experienced senior group in place dedicated to getting Notts County back to where they belong in the English footballing pyramid.”
In the club reshuffle, Chief Executive Jason Turner has also joined the Board, becoming Football Operations Director, as has the club’s Financial Director Corrine Rigby and Commercial Director Amanda Fletcher.
Turner joined Notts in 2016, bringing with him a wealth of experience thanks to similar roles at Cardiff City and Plymouth, while Rigby and Fletcher arrived Meadow Lane in January alongside Hardy.
