Oldham Athletic manager John Sheridan has set his relegation battlers the target of winning nine games to save their skin.
A 1-0 defeat at the weekend to Bury has seen the Latics remain in 23rd place in the table, seven points adrift of safety and with rivals Shrewsbury and Blackpool to come in their next two games.
Sheridan emphasised his belief in survival with the use of new additions and a change in the way the Lancashire side have been playing.
“I feel as though we’ve got to probably win nine games which I think is achievable,” Sheridan told BBC Radio Manchester.
“I think if I can get a couple of players in, get them playing the way I want to play in different systems, and trying to get a little bit more out of the players that are here we can do it.
“We know it’s going to be difficult, it’s going to be very difficult, but I really do believe,” Sheridan said, with 20 league matches remaining in the season.
Oldham have failed to show survival form with seven defeats in their last ten league matches, and the former Plymouth and Chesterfield boss is looking to add some new faces to Boundary Park.
“There’s definitely going to be, before the Blackpool game, at least three or four fresh faces in,” added the 51-year-old.
