Leyton Orient have confirmed the sacking of head coach Ian Hendon following Saturday’s 3-1 home defeat to Exeter City.
Under Hendon, the O’s have failed to record back-to-back wins since 29 August – recording just four wins in their last 21 league games.
The decision comes after last week’s appointment of Italian TV journalist Andrea Pressenda as the club’s new technical director.
As well as The FA issuing owner Francesco Becchetti with a six-match stadium ban and £40,000 fine for violent conduct, in response to a kicking incident involving Becchetti and assistant manager Andy Hessenthaler.
Hessenthaler has been placed in charge of first-team matters on an interim basis and will be assisted by coach Kevin Nugent.
A club statement read: “The Club can confirm that Ian Hendon has been relieved of his role as Head Coach of Leyton Orient.
“The Club would like to thank Ian for his commitment and passion during his time at Leyton Orient and would like to wish him the best in his future endeavours.
“The coaching and management team will continue to focus on realising the full potential of the team and will be working intensively to enhance the Club’s performance and position in the League.”
