IN LAST week’s FA Cup first round, there was a much publicised story emanating out of Scarborough Athletic.
Jonathan Greening, their manager, was busy explaining that he’d made 60 applications to clubs for a managerial job before finally landing the opportunity at Scarborough.
Despite his connections and history with Manchester United, he’d almost given up on his ambition and when it came it was well outside the EFL.
Yet here he was, one promotion and an FA Cup run later, beginning to prove something about himself.
