Mikey Johnston said this week that Carlos Corberan is one of the best managers he’s worked under.
High praise indeed from someone who spent a season under the gung-ho yoke of Ange Postecoglou at Celtic, but surprising? Hardly.
After all, there’s a reasonable case to be made that Corberan is the best manager in the Championship.
Do his teams play liquid football? Certainly not. Attrition is the name of the game where the Spaniard is concerned.
His men will outrun you and outpress you, but they’ll rarely outplay you.
