Oldham Athletic have reinforced their struggling squad with the signing of French midfielder Mohamed Maouche on a free.
The 24-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the option for a third year, too. He started his career in his homeland with Saint-Etienne, before joining Swiss side Servette FC in 2011.
Three years later he moved on to Lausanne-Sport in the Swiss Super league, where he stayed for a year before signing for Ligue 2 club Tours and now Oldham.
Maouche will wear the number 37 shirt at Boundary Park and joins a Latics team stuck at the foot of the League One table, and still awaiting their first win.
The Latics secured a serviceable 2-2 draw with Fleetwood last time out, and will travel to face mid-table Bristol Rovers next time out.
This is Oldham’s third free agent signing in the last seven days, following on from last week’s additions of Gevaro Nepomuceno and Abdelhakim Omrani.
