The Court of Appeal has quashed the rape conviction served to Ched Evans and ordered a new trial be held.
The former Sheffield United and Wales striker has maintained his innocence throughout the legal proceedings of his case and custodial sentence.
Evans, 27, was convicted to five years in prison in 2012 and was released two-and-a-half years later, where he has since sought to clear his name by taking his case to the Criminal Cases Review Commission – which investigates possible miscarriages of justice.
A new trial is set to be arranged.
