SUNDERLAND striker Aaron Connolly has opened up on the alcohol addiction that derailed his Premier League career.
The Republic of Ireland international was just 19 when he scored twice against Tottenham on his first top-flight start for Brighton.
But his form collapsed amid a series of off-field incidents and, after barren loan spells at Luton, Venezia and Middlesbrough, he joined Hull on a permanent deal last season.
Connolly scored eight times in 29 appearances for the Tigers but was released when his contract expired in May.
