MIDDLESBROUGH, fresh from their midweek victory over West Bromwich Albion, have been in strong form lately, losing only two of their last five league matches.
They currently sit in ninth place, just two points off the play-off spots and head coach Michael Carrick, who made only one change to the lineup – Micah Hamilton earning his first league start – expressed his belief that the team’s performance warranted more than a pointless result.
“For three quarters of the game it was a good performance, so to sit here with nothing is very tough to take,” he said after the game.
