Derby County host Leyton Orient on Saturday at Pride Park Stadium in League One.
In their last league match, on Wednesday, Derby drew with Wycombe Wanderers 0-0 away.
Orient also drew, 2-2 at home against Exeter City on Tuesday, with George Moncur and Oliver O’Neill on the scoresheet.
Derby are second in the table after 43 games, of which they have won 25 and drawn eight, earning 83 points.
Orient are eight places behind County in 10th, with 17 wins and 11 draws putting them on 62 points.
With 72 goals in 43 games so far this season, the Rams are scoring more than average in the league with 1.7 goals per game. And they are conceding fewer than average, letting in 37 goals at a rate of 0.9 per game.
The away side, meanwhile, are below average scorers, with 1.2 goals per game, compared to a league average of 1.3. They have also conceded 1.2 goals per game.
With Joe Wildsmith between the sticks, the hosts can rely on one of the league’s safest pair of hands. He has kept 17 clean sheets in his 37 appearances this season, and only two other ‘keepers – Portsmouth’s Will Norris and Lincoln City‘s Lukas Jensen – have been able to prevent the opposition scoring on more occasions in League One.
In Orient’s net, Samuel Howes has one clean sheet in three games. He has conceded a goal every 45 minutes, nearly three times as often as the 122 minutes between goals for Wildsmith.
Derby are in reasonable form in League One, with three wins and two draws from their last six games.
With two wins and two draws over that period, Orient’s form is worse – they have taken eight points from 18, compared to Derby’s 11.
