Sunderland make the journey to Carrow Road to play Norwich City on Saturday looking to pick up points to end their three-game losing streak.
Sunderland’s struggles have left them with seven points from their last six Championship matches, while their opponents have earned 11 from a possible 18.
With 59 goals in 34 games so far this season, Norwich are scoring more than average in the league with 1.7 goals per game. But they are conceding more than average too, letting in 51 goals at a rate of 1.5 per game.
Sunderland, meanwhile, are average scorers, with 1.4 goals per game. They have conceded 1.1 goals per game.
In the last 10 years, Norwich and Sunderland have played each other on eight occasions. Norwich won three of them, Sunderland four, and they drew once.
On average, the Canaries scored 1.1 goals and the Black Cats 1.5 in those matches.
Their last meeting was on October 28, when Sunderland won 3-1 at home.
In Jack Clarke, the Black Cats have one of the league’s most on-form strikers so far this season. He has notched 15 goals in 33 appearances, to sit fourth in the scoring charts.
His goal rate of one every 195 minutes is slightly quicker than that of Jon Rowe, City’s top scorer with a goal every 162 minutes, and a total of 12 goals in 28 games.
The Canaries are seventh in the table after 34 games, of which they have won 15 and drawn seven, earning 52 points.
The visitors are three places behind the home team in 10th, with 14 wins and five draws putting them on 47 points.
Norwich’s last match was on February 24, a 1-1 draw against Blackburn Rovers, with Marcelino Ignacio Nuñez Espinoza getting the goal for the Canaries.
Sunderland lost 2-1 against Swansea City last time out, also on February 24, with Luke O’Nien on the scoresheet.
