Crewe's promotion hopes have suffered a major setback with the news that skipper Luke Offord will miss the rest of the season.
The 24-year-old centre-back - who had started every league game this term - was injured during last weekend’s 0-0 draw with Harrogate and scans have since revealed “significant” damage to his ankle ligaments.
“Unfortunately, it’s not good news,” said Crewe boss Lee Bell, whose side began the weekend just outside the automatic promotion places in League Two.
