Northampton’s Chris Wilder and Ricky Holmes win monthly awards

table toppers Northmapton Town were rewarded for their superb form last month with picking up the League Two Manager of the Month Award and being named as .

After receiving his award, told reporters “Winning the award is nice because it shows we have had a good month, but it is really an award for the whole club.

“It is the players who go out there and perform, and the staff who provide fantastic support to help them.

“It is great to win this award, but we know we still have an awful lot of hard work ahead of us this season to achieve what we want to”.

Holmes was in inspired form in January, scoring two goals and assisting two more.

The 28-year-old said, “I am delighted to receive the award, individual recognition is great but it is a team effort here.

“We enjoyed an excellent month in January and recorded some really important results, both at home and away.

“We are pleased with where we are in the table, but we haven’t achieved anything yet and we still have a long way to go, all of us are very aware of that.”

are currently two points ahead of Plymouth and will hope to consolidate their lead at the top of the League Two table by beating bottom placed York tomorrow.
