FORMER Wigan midfielder Shaun Maloney says he is ‘proud’ to have the chance to manage the Latics following the sudden departure of manager Kolo Toure.
Toure, who replaced Leam Richardson in November, was sacked on Thursday having failed to win any of his nine games in charge.
Maloney spent three years as a coach with the Belgian national side under former Latics boss Roberto Martinez, and managed Hibernian for 19 games last season.
