Chris Dawson has signed for Rotherham after leaving Yorkshire rivals Leeds yesterday.
The 21-year-old has put pen to paper on an 18-month contract with The Millers and could go straight into the squad for Saturday’s relegation battle against Charlton.
The midfielder told Rotherham’s official club website, “I’m really happy and looking forward to a new challenge and a fresh start and hopefully I can kick my career off here.
“It’s an important year and a half in my career and its key to how I kick on in my career.”
The Wales Under 21 intentional played under current Rotherham manager Neil Redfearn when he was in charge of Leeds and Dawson spoke of his excitement at linking up with his former boss.
“He puts a lot of belief in you and lets you know that you’re a good player and at the same time when you’re not playing well,” Dawson explained.
“He gets behind you and that’s what you need as a young player going forward so I’m really excited to be here.”
Rotherham are currently in 21st place in the Championship, one point clear of the drop zone.
