STEVENS DOUBLE POWERS ROVERS

FOREST Green enjoyed the perfect Tuesday night with a win against Barrow and their nearest rivals both slipping up.
Matty Stevens’ second half double proved enough for a 2-0 victory. The win sent Rovers five points clear of second placed Exeter.
That was because the Grecians fell to a 3-1 defeat at Colchester. Goals from Sylvester Jasper, Noah Chilvers and Freddie Sears ended the Devon side’s 20-game unbeaten run. Padraig Amond netted for Exeter. Port Vale were third going into midweek, but a home defeat to Walsall saw them drop out of the automatic promotion places. Bren...
