JOHN Sheridan says “security” was behind his decision to ditch rock-bottom Wigan for League One rivals Swindon.
The 56-year-old has replaced Richie Wellens at the County Ground just two months after taking charge of the crisis-hit Latics.
Wigan have been in administration since July 1, and were forced to sell or release 25 players following relegation from the Championship.
Sheridan - who won just two of his 11 matches in charge - and his staff were employed on month-tomonth deals.
