NEW Cheltenham Town striker Luke Varney has been hailed by Robins boss Michael Duff.
Former Premier League frontman Varney, now 36, was handed a lifeline by Duff late last month after finding himself without a club since being released by Burton in the summer.
And Varney repaid some of that faith by grabbing a brace against Morecambe in their midweek 2-2 draw, which included an injury-time equaliser.
“I said when he came in he’ll be a big signing, as much for the dressing room as anything else,” said Duff.
