SCUNTHORPE academy coach Kevin Austin has denied rumours that his pancreatic cancer is terminal.
The 45-year-old former defender, who made more than 500 appearances during a playing career that took in spells at Leyton Orient, Lincoln and Swansea, was diagnosed last June.
He has been receiving treatment and revealed the doctors were pleased with his progress.
“I appreciate the nice messages but I needed to let people know the rumours being spread just aren’t true,” he wrote.
“My doctors say it is under control.”
